Hi there,

with tumblr's new "no female presenting nipples" policy in place, I've decided to create this account ... just in case. Not that I post a lot of adult content, but, well, you never know. I'll miss seeing the ocassional porn post on my dash. I'm miss my dash period. But then, I haven't been posting a lot, and since it's obviously time to move on from tumblr ... here we are.

I love talking about fandom, stuff, politics. Come talk to me and be my friend.

First they come for the (female presenting) nipples, what will they go for next? >:C Goddamn NippleGate, though I do feel the sudden urge to draw one or two (female presenting) nipples now.

The good thing is that Fandom won't ever die and Dreamwidth is pretty good for political posts and meta and everything, imo better than Tumblr, and as soon as you're following enough people your dash (reading page) will get more active. Though I hope there will be some pic posts, too. So far it's the only thing I miss on DW :(

I miss being able to reblog stuff, and my dash in general. It'll be difficult to establish a sense of community here, especially since I've been so much less active these past few months...

Hmm I think it depends a little on how many people migrate here and which community-blogs get created. No reblogging means people possibly have to interact more in the way of comments. Ideal would be some kind of merge between DW/Tumblr/AO3, but personally I think the sense of community will actually develope better here than it did on Tumblr, simply cause it's actually possible to make communities about shared interests. Maybe I'm just biased cause I never had any sense of community on Tumblr for the most part tho. ^^'

I'm glad you've joined DW. I have other platforms I'm on, but I think this will wind up being where I end up mostly. I'm an old LJ fan, so this is like trying on an old pair of jeans. Gotta wriggle around to make them fit again and stretch em' out, but yeah it still fits. :)

That's a good comparison! I also have experience on LJ, which makes the adaptation easier, and since I rarely post gifs or images, it'll probably be easier for me to get along here - but what am I going to do when no one puts a certain British actor on my dash anymore? ;))

Not to worry, I have 250+ GB of pictures of that Englishman on my external HD. :D

Back when I was on LJ and had to use photobucket, I started keeping huge archives of fannish pictures (and porn pictures ;) ) on my own devices. Making the switch to DW will encourage me to make more original graphics, gifs, banners, icons, etc. again. I used to love the banner and icon contests that LJ had and I see they have them here as well.

Once I'm sure that I've migrated my RP acct elsewhere on here, I'll probably start up a DW instance of "Foolish-Muse", my porn tumblr.

Thing is, it is much more difficult to stumble on people who share interests. I remember I used to have a big Flist on LJ, but can't for the life of me remember how I managed to accumulate it.

Yeah, I don't know either, where to get those friends from and how to keep them. But I'll collect anyone I know, I guess, one blog at a time.
