Date: 2018-12-06 02:53 pm (UTC)And it leaves me even more convinced that the fandoms should be looking into something like AO3 or Dreamwidth, where things are based on what we do, and not what advertisers want. But it's sadly starting to look like people are going to heavily fragment, with younger (or more tech-savvy) people going to Discord & Twitter, despite the fact that it's not an ideal platform for anything other than chatting and link sharing, and that Twitter has the damnable 280 character limit.
The sad truth is that Tumblr was a meeting place for a lot of minorities, and it might take a long while before another similar platform presents itself. I'm personally really enjoying Dreamwidth, but the retro style might be off-putting to the younger generation.
